Aanii Wii Maajiikwad Families, due to foggy conditions, Wii Maajiikwad is on a three-hour delay for today, September 16, 2025.

Gchi Miigwech to Wii Maajiikwad AB Team, Parks and Rec staff and Grade 5 Students and staff who helped put up the cover on our school lodge today.

Miigwech also to Team Dining for helping us to honor and thank Parks and Rec staff.

Student Handbooks are coming home with your eldest child today along with signature forms at the back. Please return all signed forms by Thursday August 28 so that we can plan for trips, assign technology/chromebooks etc...

Please ensure that enrollment packages are returned to the school by 315 pm today to ensure school start on Monday.

Bus Drivers need up to date student lists before they pick up students and clssroom teachers need to prepare student spaces.

If forms are returned Monday or later, 24 hours Processing time will be required for student start.

Back to School Backpack giveaway is happening now! We are in the gym of Wii Maajiikwad this year. We still have backpacks available; come see us before 7:30pm.

Reminder to all Wiimaajiikwad students and parents - enrollment packages need to be completed and returned to the front office prior to August 25 start date.

There will be enrollment packages available at tonight's K-12 back to school event here at WiiMaajiikwad 530 pm-730pm.

Miigwech

Wii Maajiikwad Immersion has two openings; one in Pichiinsag (3 year old) and one in Maangoonsag (4 year old) classroom. Our Megisiisag (2 year old) classroom is currently full, however, we have started a waiting list. At times, we have students and parents that are not quite ready for school or are not able to obtain the parent language hours required.

Wii Maajiikwad students in K-5th grade will also need to complete a new enrollment packet. We are only asking for updated immunization records and an up-to-date physical.

We will also be hosting an Open House for students to come in and meet their teachers. This also allows them time in the classroom and the ability to meet other students. Please see attached Flyers and enrollment packet for registration. Please contact the main office at Wii Maajiikwad with any questions or concerns.

Niibing Schedule for June

Boozhoo Kina Weya Summer is here and so is the Meet Up and Eat Up Breakfast and Lunch program.

Boozhoo Kina Weya. A reminder that tomorrow is powwow day here at Wii Maajiikwad. Powwow starts at 1230 til 2 pm. If students are planning to dance, they can bring their regalia to school with them or parents can bring to the school at 1130 am. We would welcome any community dancers and singers.

Aanii, During our school powwow, we will be crowning Miss Wii Maajiikwad, Wii Maajiikwad Warrior, Jr. Miss Wii Maajiikwad and Jr. Wii Maajiikwad Warrior. Packets can be picked up in the front office. Packets can be turned in by 9 am, Tuesday, June 3, 2025. Migwetch

Boozhoo Kina weya We hope all are well after last night's storm system that went through our region. Information went home with most students this week regarding a schoolwide trip to Island Park this afternoon. Several teachers sent notes home with passive permission meaning you only needed to sign and return if you DO NOT want your child to attend. Please contact the school at 989-775-4453 if you do not wish for your child to attend this field trip and to make arrangements for pick up of student(s) if this is the case.

Boozhoo Kina Weya A reminder that tomorrow is our school trip to Midland for the Loons game. Students must be at school by 9 am in order to travel to this game. Students should come dressed appropriately for the weather and for public safety. Students can bring sunscreen and a blanket to sit on. Lunch will be served by our staff - including hotdogs, chips and juice. It is also Spirit week so students can wear Green and red colours and baseball hats/caps. If your student is not allowed to go to the game, please keep student at home for the day..

Boozhoo Kina Weya Reminder to parents - There is a crafting session from 12 noon to 8 pm today for immersion parents to finsh ribbon skirts and/or ribbon shirts.
